For trekkers wanting to stay away from the well-known and common tourist path and escape to a part of Peru that has had very little change in the last 500 years, then a trek through the spectacular scenery of the Lares valley is a must.

It will be a 3-day hike where we can appreciate from the heights the sacred valley of the Incas, walk through the Inca trail, be accompanied by beautiful llamas during the trip, all this will create an unforgettable adventure Huchuy Qosqo is a high population, located in a small plain in the upper third of the mountain. From the place you have a beautiful view, on the other side of the valley you can see the incomparable beauty of the perpetual snowfall of the Pitusiray and in the background you can clearly see the town of Calca, our itinerary ends with a beautiful sunrise in Machupicchu.

Day 1: Cusco – Tambomachay – Patabamba:

We pick you up from your hotel at 7:00 am and travel for 30 minutes to the head of the trail up in Sacsayhuaman. Here we will meet our trek staff and begin the hike through the Andean landscapes and over the Pukamarca zone. This being surrounded by majestic rocks and boulders that direct us right to Huchuy Qosqo. Huchuy Qosqo was originally a dwelling site of the Inca Wiracocha, where we can still see many of the original buildings, made with perfect stone work, grainery structures called Collcas to store and preserve food. Huchuy Qosqo was also a very important agricultural center to produce corn; (3600 m.a.s.l.).

Day 2: Huchuy Qosqo – Lamay – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes.

On the second day we will explore the Huchuy Qosqo inca site. Here we will have our lunch. We will then trek for three hours down to Lamay and take the train at the Ollantaytambo train station to the town of Aguas Calientes. Two hours of an amazing train ride, along with beautiful views on both sides of the valley will follow. After we arrive to Aguas Calientes, we will have the accommodation in the hotel. We will have some free time to go to the hot springs to relax and get ready for the next day.

Day 3: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco.

Wake up early in the morning to have breakfast and then take the first bust up to Machupicchu. There we will have a guided 2-hour tour of the citadel. We will be able to visit the most important places of Machupicchu, including: the agricultural site, the temple of the Sun, the temple of Mother Earth, the main temple, the 3-window temple, the sundial, the temple of the condor, and so on. We will then have some free time to explore Machupicchu on our own or make the climb up to the Huayna Picchu mountain (check availability). After this we will take a bus down to Aguas Calientes at 4:20 pm, we will board the train to Ollantaytambo, where we will be taken back to Cusco.
