The mountain range of Ausangate, with its permanent snow caps, is considered as one of the main “Apus” deities by the locals. It is located in the Vilcanota mountain range and is one of the highest and most wonderful Andean mountains in Peru. With a height of 6375 meters/20906 feet above sea level, Ausangate can be seen from Sacsayhuaman. The natural isolation of the area has left many ancient Inca costumes intact, and we will see locals in their traditional clothes, and will firsthand enjoy their music and religious rituals.
During the 6-day trek we will hike over 80 kilometers/50 miles, crossing the peak of Ausangate. This true adventure trek requires that you be in good physical condition and acclimated to high altitude.
