The Royal Inca Trail covers the last part of the trek and the walk down to the lost citadel of Machu Picchu. It is an easy and fast trek that we provide for our clients who have less time in Cusco, the Inca Trail experience, a tour of Machu Picchu and a night in the town of Aguas Calientes.

Day 1: Cusco – Wiñaywayna – Aguas Calientes
We pick you up from your hotel in our small shuttle bus to the Poroy train station. The train ride covers 104 kilometers/64.6 miles (4 hours), and then we set out on our hike to Wiñaywayna. After that we walk to Inti Punku (“Sun Gate”), where we can take in a panoramic view of Machupicchu and finally arrive to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night.

Day 2: Aguas Calientes – Machupicchu – Cusco
We take one of the first buses from Aguas Calientes up to Machupicchu. We have a tour of the Machupicchu citadel. There is also an optional climb to the top of Huaynapicchu Mountain (the pyramid-shaped peak that overlooks Machupicchu. After the visit you will have some free time to explore Machupicchu on your own or climb up to Huaynapicchu. The next meeting point is in Aguas Calientes, you take the bus back on your own, according to the departure time of your train back to Cusco.
