Peru has different types of weather (28), depending on the geographical area without heavy rains in winter and sweltering in summer, it is generally a moderate climate.

The seasons in Peru are listed as follows:

  • Summer: From December 22 to March 21.
  • Autumn: From March 22 to June 21.
  • Winter: From June 22 to September 22.
  • Spring: From September 23 to December 21.

We can distinguish 3 climatic zones belonging to the 3 geographical areas of its vast territory.

On the coast, the temperature in summer is over 29° C and winter is humid and rainy with an average temperature of 14°C.

Highlands display a cold and dry weather with temperatures ranging from 5°C to 18°C, depending on the time of the day.

The rainforest has a hot climate, humid and tropical with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 29°C.

We can distinguish three climatic zones that belong to the three geographical areas of Peru:

  • In the subtropical coast of Peru, in the summer the temperature can go over 29°C, while winter lasts from June to September and is humid and rainy, with temperatures around 14°C.
  • In the mountains, the weather is cold and dry, and the temperature fluctuates between 9° and 18°C, depending on the time of day. The sun usually shines every morning of the year, but when night falls the thermometers reach only 5°C.
  • In the jungle, the climate is tropical, hot, and himid, and the average temperature is 25°C to 28°C.

In the mountains and jungle rains being in December and finish in April.
