The mountain range of Ausangate with its permanent snow caps is considered by the locals as one of the main “Apus” deities. It is located in the Vilcanota mountain range and is one the highest and most wonderful Andean mountains in Peru. With a height of 6,372 meters/20,906 feet above sea level, Ausangatge can be seen from Sacsayhuaman. The natural isolation of the area has left many ancient Inka costumes intact, and we will see the local inhabitants in their traditional clothes, and will see firsthand their music and religious rituals.

During the 6-day trek we will hike over 80 kilometers/50 miles, crossing the peak of Ausangate. This true adventure trek requires that you be in good physical condition and acclimated to high altitude.
