This walking tour start in Moray Amphitheatre. It was an agricultural experimental station of the Inkas, Hundreds of years ago the ancient people built this laboratory in order to develop different strains of crops. This area was chosen due to the fact that the climates of many different ecological zones were found on this one site.

The next point in the route is a short visit to Maras, where we can apreciate different Colonial Facades, then we continue on to Salineras, where villagers still work on ancient Pre-Inkan salt pools and finally we visit Machupicchu citadel.

Day 1: CUSCO - MORAY - MARAS - OLLANTAYTAMBO
We depart from Cusco early in the morning by private bus, after an hour we arrive to the famous circular agricultural terraces of Moray (11,800 ft).

We walk along ancient farming paths to the village of Maras and visit Maras village continue on to the Salinas or Salt Pools. Upon reaching the Urubamba River we take our bus to Ollantaytambo, where we spend the night in a confortable hotel. Walking details: 8 miles, 4 hours.

Day 2:OLLANTAYTAMBO - AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHUPICCHU - CUSCO
Early in the moroning we take a train to Aguas Calientes. the We take a bus up to Machupicchu, where we enjoy a guided tour of the ancient Inka citadel. Afterwards, we take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes where there is a free time in the town before our return to Cusco by train.
